(KNSI) - Minnesota Governor Tim Walz laid out his $2 billion bonding proposals for public projects across the state.

The state is expected to pass a borrowing package during the Legislative session, which starts next month.

Included in the governor's proposal is $12,150,000 for the Municipal Athletic Complex (MAC) to renovate, expand, and improve the facility. The city is planning a $24.3 project to include a two-story 27,000 square foot addition to the hockey arena, replacement of Dick Putz Field, and upgrades to Joe Faber Field.

There's $4 million to help launch the Jacob Wetterling Recreation Center in St. Joseph. The money would be for design, construction, furnish, and equip the new facility. The total cost of the project is around $16 million.

The governor is recommending $1.37 million for Rockville to design and construct phase three of the Rocori Trail between Cold Spring and Rockville.

According to the governor's office, there were more than $5 billion in requests.

Some of the projects in our area that weren't included in the governor's bonding bill were money for the Becker Bussines Park Expansion to help attract a Google Data Center and other businesses, and funds for wastewater improvements in Foley.

The Minnesota Senate and House will release their bonding bills after the start of the legislative session. Lawmakers go back to St. Paul on February 11th.
