(KNSI) - The current president of the College of St. Benedict is stepping down at the end of the year.

Mary Dana Hinton is headed to Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia.

Hinton has been with St. Ben's since 2014.

In a statement, the school said they are grateful to Dr. Hinton for her six years of service.

Hollins University is an all women's private college. Men are admitted only to the graduate-level programs.

Dr. Hinton earned a Ph.D. in religion and religious education with high honors from Fordham University, a Master of Arts degree in clinical child psychology from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Williams College. Dr. Hinton is the recipient of the Bicentennial Medal from Williams College and an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from Misericordia University.

The College of Saint Benedict Board of Trustees has retained Academic Search, Inc. to assist in the selection of the next CSB president.

She will continue to serve as president until the end of the academic year.
