(KNSI) - The coronavirus outbreak and related issues such as unemployment and stresses of homeschooling can take a mental toll on any adult dealing with it, but what about kids.
Jerry Moe, with the Betty Ford Center in California, says that the stress level can be even higher for kids who have addiction in their families.
"Boys and girls don't go to school now, and so they're cut off from the consistency and the nurturing and the structure that's there."
Moe says there are free virtual resources for kids who are feeling depressed and isolated as they're cut off from friends.
"What you'll find there are videos, you'll find a storybook; you'll find interactive coloring pages."
There are also DVDs, newsletters, and discussion materials.
The Betty Ford Center is part of the Minnesota based Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
