(KNSI) - As COVID-19 numbers continue to rise in Minnesota, up to 262 cases on Tuesday, more supplies, tests and training are needed for healthcare workers than usual.
The CentraCare Foundation has started a COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to help with those expenses.
Gifts designated to the fund will cover additional healthcare needs during the pandemic, according to a statement from CentraCare.
Vice President of the CentraCare Foundation, Brad Konkler says one of the things they will use the fund for is scrubs and work clothes for healthcare workers, adding, " given the contagious nature of COVID-19, it is unsafe for them to wear their clothes from home, come into the healthcare environment, and then bring those clothes home."
Those wishing to donate money to the fund can do so on CentraCare's website, here.
Konkler says those wishing to donate supplies and goods related to the COVID-19 outbreak are asked to contact their local county. Stearns County's COVID-19 hotline can provide information on those donations by calling 320-650-6625.
