(KNSI) – A St. Cloud man is accused of choking a woman and threatening to kill her.

According to the criminal complaint, 37-year-old William Tell IV grabbed a woman around the neck and squeezed when she tried to leave him on Saturday morning.

The victim says she couldn’t breathe.

Law enforcement says the two had been arguing throughout the weekend.

The woman says he told her he would kill her as he strangled her.  Police say Tell also said things such as “I hate you” and “you’re the worst thing that ever happened to me.”

The woman eventually made it out of the home and left. She then called the police.

A review of the Tell’s criminal history reveals two convictions for Felony Domestic Abuse No Contact Order Violations in Stearns County District Court.
