(KNSI) – Capital equipment plans were up for discussion at this week’s Waite Park City Council work session.
In considering future equipment replacement for the city’s fire department, Fire Chief Shawn Downs floated the idea that enough money could be saved by changing the contract with the St. Cloud fire department to enable Waite Park to replace needed equipment. Shaunna Johnson, Waite Park City Administrator supports the chief and his ideas to move the department to the next level. She also terms the relationship with the St. Cloud Fire department as exceptional.
Johnson stressed they’re trying to determine what might be in the best interest of the residents and for the community to provide fire service in the future and that these discussions are very preliminary.
