(KNSI) — The National Federation of Independent Business, a small business advocacy organization, has endorsed Michele Tafoya in the race for U.S. Senate in Minnesota.
It’s the second major endorsement announced this week for Tafoya, who recently received the endorsement of President Donald Trump. In an announcement made Monday night during a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, the president urged Minnesotans to vote for her, saying she is a very respected person.
NFIB Minnesota State Director Jon Boesche said in a statement that the group is proud to endorse her on behalf of the state’s small businesses. He said Tafoya understands the issues that matter to small business owners and has pledged to support policies that create jobs and promote economic growth.
NFIB Political Director Louis Bertolotti said Tafoya has shown a commitment to advancing small business interests, and that it’s important to elect a senator who will prioritize them, given the number of small businesses in Minnesota.
On the day she launched her campaign, Tafoya said she would be honored to have Trump’s endorsement. She has also voiced support for his pro-life stance and for deporting people in the country illegally who have committed violent crimes.
