St. Cloud City Council Candidate Forum Set for October 14th at City Hall

(KNSI) – Voters in three St. Cloud wards will get a chance to hear from city council candidates next week ahead of the November 3rd election.

The League of Women Voters, St. Cloud Area is hosting a candidate forum on Wednesday, October 14th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the council chambers at St. Cloud City Hall.

Candidates in three contested races have been invited. In Ward 1, Charlie Hobbs and Dave Masters are running. Luke Christian and Hudda Ibrahim are on the ballot in Ward 3, and Joe Baratta and Craig Heurung are running in Ward 4.

Ward 2 council member Karen Larson is running unopposed.

The Arc Minnesota, an advocacy group for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is co-sponsoring the event.

The public can attend in person and submit written questions at the forum. Questions can also be emailed ahead of time to lwvstcloud@lwvmn.org by midnight Monday, October 12th. Organizers ask that questions be brief and related to the job of a city council member.

The forum will be recorded and posted on the league’s website for anyone who can’t make it.
