St. Cloud Police Seek Help After Group Assault; 2 Teens Arrested

(KNSI) — St. Cloud police are asking for the public’s help as they work to identify more of the roughly dozen juveniles involved in an attack on a boy. Two teenagers have already been arrested.

Officers were called to the 600 block of 15th Street South at 3:58 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22nd. They found a juvenile boy had been assaulted by 10 to 12 other juvenile males.

A woman who tried to step in and stop the attack was hit with a bat by an unknown male, according to police. Both she and the boy suffered minor injuries.

Investigators with the department’s Criminal Investigation Unit identified two juvenile boys, both St. Cloud residents, as taking part in the assault. Officers with the Community Response Team found and arrested them. The two are being held in secure detention on felony charges connected to the attack.

Police have not said whether either of the two in custody is the person who swung the bat.

The investigation is ongoing, and police say more arrests are expected as others involved are identified.
