(KNSI) – Drivers in St. Cloud are paying an average of $4.35 for a gallon of regular gas as the work week gets underway.
AAA says that’s down about a penny from yesterday, but 18 cents higher than a week ago. A year ago, the St. Cloud average was $2.94.
Diesel drivers are seeing a new record. The average price of diesel in St. Cloud is $6.33 a gallon, the highest AAA has ever recorded for the area. The statewide diesel average is also at a record $6.33. A month ago, diesel in St. Cloud averaged about $5.40.
Across Minnesota, regular gas is averaging $4.39 a gallon, unchanged from yesterday and 16 cents higher than last week. That’s still below the state’s record of $4.76, set on June 15th, 2022.
Among the Minnesota metro areas AAA tracks, Moorhead has the cheapest gas at $4.05 a gallon. Rochester is the most expensive at $4.45.
The national average is $4.48 a gallon. California drivers are paying the most, at an average of $6.16.
