(KNSI) – A former Minneapolis Police Officer has been found guilty of causing the death of Geroge Floyd.
Chauvin was convicted of all counts. He was charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter.
Floyd died on May 25 after Chauvin and other officers held him down for nearly 9 1/2 minutes.
Chauvin had his knee across the 46-year-old man’s neck during the arrest.
Bystandarded video of Floyd’s death caused outrage and civil unrest across Minnesota and the Nation.
It took the jury less than two days to reach their verdict.
Three other officers involved in Floyd’s death will go on trial in August. They’re facing aiding and abetting charges.
