Waite Park Scrubs & Beyond Closing, All Five Minnesota Stores Shutting Down

(KNSI) – The Waite Park store where many central Minnesota nurses and medical workers buy their scrubs is closing, part of a nationwide shutdown by the retailer’s parent company.

Scrubs & Beyond, at 107 2nd Street South in Waite Park, is one of five Minnesota locations affected. The others are in Rochester, Burnsville, Coon Rapids and at Rosedale Center in Roseville.

The chain’s website has added a red banner announcing that all of its retail stores are closing. No reason has been given, and the company has not announced a closing date for the Waite Park store or any of the others.

Stores in other parts of the country have begun going-out-of-business sales, with discounts running from 20% to 40% off.

Scrubs & Beyond is owned by Kindthread, a Scottsdale, Arizona company that bought and relaunched the brand in 2022. The Rochester Post Bulletin reports a liquidation firm is already working inside the Rochester store and that employees there have been told not to talk about the closing. Kindthread has not responded to questions from news organizations.

The retailer operates more than 115 stores in 30 states and calls itself the largest seller of health care apparel in the country. Whether its online store will keep operating is unclear.
