(KNSI) – The City of St. Cloud has released more details on its annual Day of Remembrance ceremony marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks.
The evening’s 45-minute program starts at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11th at the St. Cloud Police Department, 101 11th Avenue North.
Mayor Jake Anderson is inviting the public to the ceremony, which honors the victims, survivors and first responders of the attacks. The gathering brings together local officials, police officers, firefighters, faith leaders and community members.
Speakers will include representatives from local churches, the St. Cloud Police Department and the St. Cloud Fire Department. The program also features the national anthem, a wreath ceremony, a bell ringing, an honor guard piper, a rifle salute and taps.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed in the coordinated attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and in the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
