(KNSI) — The St. Cloud Fire Department is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony for its new fire station.
The station and training facility were approved by voters in 2024 as part of the Public Safety Referendum. It will serve the growing southwestern part of the city and be built at the intersection of 33rd Street South and County Road 74, near Tech High School.
According to plans released after the facility was approved, the two-story station features a 24-foot-high truck bay. A key feature is a five-story regional training tower that will be located between the main building and the south property line. Construction is expected to be completed in late 2027.
The ceremony is set for Monday, August 31st at 3:00 p.m. at 4850 33rd Street South in St. Cloud.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
