(KNSI) – St. Cloud firefighters will get their shot at revenge next month.
The second annual Police vs. Fire Guns ‘N Hoses Softball Game is set for Monday, September 14th, at Joe Faber Field, part of the Municipal Athletic Complex. Members of the St. Cloud Police Department and the St. Cloud Fire Department will face off for a year of bragging rights.
Police won the inaugural matchup last September by a final score of 18-12. In a Facebook post following that game, St. Cloud Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 464 thanked the crowd for turning out and said the department was already looking ahead to making the rematch bigger.
The evening opens with a Touch-a-Truck from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., where families can get an up-close look at police squads, fire engines, and other emergency vehicles. First pitch follows at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free, and food will be available on site for purchase.
The St. Cloud Police Benefit Association and Local 464 launched the event last year as a way to bring the community together and showcase two departments that typically work side by side on emergency calls.
