(KNSI) – CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital has received the American Heart Association’s Commitment to Quality Award.

According to a release, the recognition honors the hospital’s sustained work delivering evidence-based cardiovascular and stroke care across three or more clinical areas within the Association’s Get With The Guidelines program.

The award is based on measures including timely treatment, appropriate medications and interventions, patient education, discharge planning, and accurate submission of clinical data to the American Heart Association registry.

CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital is the only hospital in Minnesota to receive the award this year.

Joy Plamann, President of CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of CentraCare, says the award reflects the dedication of the hospital’s physicians, nurses and care teams. She says it shows the systems and processes in place consistently support care that aligns with national clinical guidelines.

Plamann says CentraCare has consistently earned recognition across multiple cardiovascular and stroke programs, and that this award highlights the health system’s commitment to delivering evidence-based care.
