(KNSI) – An 11-year-old boy was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man Tuesday evening at a grocery store in St. Cloud.
Police were called to Coborn’s Marketplace at 900 Cooper Avenue South at 5:09 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. Officers say an 18-year-old St. Cloud man was stabbed multiple times in the vestibule of the business. The victim and other patrons were able to subdue the suspect and hold him until officers arrived.
Police say the two did not know each other before the incident.
The victim was taken to CentraCare – St. Cloud Hospital with injuries described as significant but not life-threatening. Officers recovered the knife used in the assault at the scene.
The 11-year-old suspect, also of St. Cloud, was not injured. His name wasn’t released because he is a juvenile. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation before being placed in custody.
Investigators later executed a search warrant at a St. Cloud address connected to the suspect. The case remains under investigation.
