(KNSI) – KNSI will wrap up its Meet Your Neighbor summer series Tuesday night at Eastman Park, joining dozens of neighborhood gatherings across St. Cloud and the surrounding communities for National Night Out.
It is the first time the station has joined the event to Lake Georg.
The KNSI grill out runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. featuring free hot dogs, soda and chips. Organizers ask that people bring a lawn chair.
National Night Out is held the first Tuesday in August each year and is built around the idea of neighbors getting to know one another and building relationships with local law enforcement. Block parties, cookouts and park gatherings are scheduled throughout the city, and police officers and firefighters typically stop by as many as they can over the course of the evening.
KNSI’s Meet Your Neighbor series has moved between parks throughout the summer, and station staff say the National Night Out date has become a natural fit for the concept.
