(KNSI) – A Sartell High School student has earned a perfect score on his ACT. Zach Weitgenant, son of Joel and Cindy Weitgenant, is a student in the Class of 2027 at Sartell High School. He earned the highest possible ACT composite score of 36.
Only about one-quarter of 1% of students who take the ACT earn the top Composite score. Sartell High School Principal Shayne Kusler shared, “This is a fantastic achievement and we are incredibly proud of Zach. We appreciate the way he represents excellence on behalf of Sartell-St. Stephen Schools.” Superintendent Dr. Michael Rivard says this is actually the second occurrence this calendar year. Student Henry Johnson also scored the rare feat of a perfect 36.
Students who earn a 36 Composite score have met all four of the ACT College Ready Benchmarks, meaning they have a 50% chance of earning a B or higher in related first-year, credit-bearing college courses and a 75% chance of earning a C or better in those courses. ACT data show that students in college who have met at least 3 ACT benchmarks are more than twice as likely to graduate on time than students who have met none.
