(KNSI) – Three people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing in St. Cloud earlier this month.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Stearns County, police were called just after 10:00 p.m. on July 2nd for a stabbing on the 500 block of 9th Avenue North. An officer found a victim who was having trouble breathing and had an inch-long laceration near his armpit. The victim initially told police he didn’t know who stabbed him and that the person had run away. He explained that his friend, who was also at the scene, wanted to fight someone and that several people jumped out of the bushes and ambushed him. He was trying to intervene and break up the fight when he felt pain on his left side and fell to the ground before realizing he had been stabbed.
The friend told investigators that a Honda Pilot pulled into the area, and as he approached the SUV, people came out of hiding and started fighting with him. He mentioned a teen who had a knife and two others, identified in court papers as Nasrudin Sirad and Idris Muse, who were dressed in black and wearing ski masks. He says he saw the two punch the victim, and Muse hit the victim in the left side before running off.
On July 10th, officers located Sirad, Muse and the 17-year-old and took them into custody. Each was charged with second-degree riot and first- or second-degree assault.
Anyone who lives in the neighborhood is asked to check doorbell and security cameras for footage and contact police.
