(KNSI) – A semi driver was taken to the hospital with injuries after his truck left the roadway and struck a highway sign in Stearns County late Sunday night.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just before midnight on Highway 71 at milepost 158 in Getty Township. According to the report, a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia semi was traveling northbound on Highway 71 when it left the roadway and collided with a highway sign post. The road was dry at the time.

The driver, a 51-year-old from Sutton, Nebraska, was wearing his seat belt. He was taken to Sauk Centre Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

The Sauk Police Department, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Sauk Centre Ambulance and Elrosa First Responders assisted at the scene.
