(KNSI) – The CenterPoint Energy Foundation has awarded $250,000 in grants to 18 veteran-serving nonprofit organizations in Minnesota. The grants range from $5,000 to $25,000 and are intended to strengthen programs and initiatives for veterans and active-duty service members across the communities CenterPoint serves.

The awards are being distributed in recognition of the 250th anniversary of the United States. Among the recipients is Minnesota Warriors Ice Hockey, a veteran hockey team based in St. Cloud, along with 17 other organizations statewide.

Jason Ryan, executive vice president for regulatory services and government affairs at CenterPoint, said the grants reflect the company’s respect for those who serve and have served. “Through the CenterPoint Energy Foundation, we are honored to contribute to enhancing veteran resilience and strengthening the communities we are privileged to serve.”
