(KNSI) – A new Junior Ranger activity booklet for kids ages 9 and up is available at various Minnesota state parks and recreation areas.

The booklet, called Junior Ranger: Get Curious!, features activities created by Minnesota Department of Natural Resources state park naturalists to help kids engage with the natural world. It focuses on investigating misunderstood wildlife such as bats and turkey vultures.

Once kids finish the booklet, they can take it to a state park ranger station or visitor center to collect a special bat-themed Junior Ranger patch. A map of pickup locations and printable versions of the booklet are available on the DNR website.

The booklet is part of the DNR’s Junior Ranger program, which offers kids a way to engage with the state park system, learn about the natural world and discover the benefits of time spent in nature.
