St. Cloud Man Held in Jail on Suspicion of Sexual Assault

(KNSI) – A 38-year-old St. Cloud man is being held at the Stearns County Jail on suspicion of sexual assault after his arrest Thursday.

According to the St. Cloud Police Department, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault around 7:40 a.m. on May 7th in the 500 block of 10th Avenue North. Officers met with the victim, a 27-year-old St. Cloud woman, who reported being sexually assaulted overnight at the place she was staying.

Investigators eventually developed probable cause to arrest a suspect.
Officers took the man into custody at his residence without incident and brought him to the Stearns County Jail, where he is being held on two counts of suspicion of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Police say the case remains an active investigation and that no further information was immediately released.
