(KNSI) – Five people were injured in a single-vehicle run-off-road crash early Saturday morning in Sauk Centre.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:55 a.m. May 30 near 38712 County Road 186. The Stearns County Emergency Communications Center received a crash detection notification at the location, and upon arrival, deputies found a black 2021 Chevrolet Silverado in the east ditch.

An investigation found that the driver, a 41-year-old Sauke Centre woman, was traveling northbound on County Road 186 when she lost control and left the roadway. Four passengers were riding with the driver at the time of the crash, including a 21-year-old from Sauk Centre, two 18-year-olds from Melrose and a 19-year-old from Sauk Centre.

Two of the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, while the other three were not. All five sustained multiple non-life-threatening injuries. Some received on-scene medical treatment, while others were transported to local hospitals for further care. Authorities believe alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Melrose Police Department, Melrose Ambulance Service, Minnesota State Patrol, Sauk Centre Police Department, Sauk Centre Fire Department and Sauk Centre Ambulance Service.
