(KNSI) — Students from Becker High School will take the stage at the historic State Theatre in Minneapolis next month as part of Spotlight Showcase, Minnesota’s largest high school theater celebration.
The event, presented by Hennepin Arts, is scheduled for June 8th and 9th in downtown Minneapolis. Becker students are among more than 1,200 high schoolers from across the state who will perform during the two-day celebration.
Spotlight Showcase celebrates student achievement in theater performance, technical theater, student journalism and musical performance after a year of participation in Hennepin Arts’ statewide Spotlight Education program. The program serves nearly 8,000 students annually at more than 100 high schools throughout Minnesota and supplements theater education through production assessments, workshops, arts journalism opportunities and access to theater professionals from Minnesota and Broadway.
