(KNSI) – The Sartell Public Safety Department is recognizing Officer Taylor Bartlett, Captain Kelly Mader and Investigator Brennan Olson as its 2025 award recipients. The awards are given annually to honor department members for their impact within the community, the organization, and among their coworkers.
Bartlett received the 2025 Officer of the Year Award. He serves as a defensive tactics instructor and plays a key role in mentoring newer officers through the department’s field training program. According to a department Facebook post, Bartlett was recognized for demonstrating calm decision-making while conducting thorough investigations and proactive police work.
Mader received the 2025 Leadership Award. In addition to his role as captain, Mader oversees fleet management and numerous behind-the-scenes technological and operational projects that the department noted are critical to its success. “His leadership and guidance continue to have a significant impact across the organization, particularly for newer officers who view him as a trusted mentor and role model.”
Olson received the 2025 Meritorious Service Award. Most notably, Olson played a significant role in conducting large-scale investigations while serving on the Central Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force over the past two years. Several of those investigations resulted in the arrests of multiple traffickers and child predators.
The department said Olson’s reputation as a skilled investigator earned him respect from law enforcement agencies throughout the region. “He has consistently demonstrated professionalism and commitment to protecting vulnerable victims.”
