(KNSI) — Drivers at Sysco Western Minnesota have agreed to a new contract, avoiding a strike.

Terms of the new contract, which was approved by 99% of the membership, include a total 37% wage increase and pension improvements, with a 19.6% bump in the first year.

The workers, represented by Teamsters Local 120, pushed for higher wages, stronger retirement benefits, and more affordable health care, in line with contracts secured by Sysco Teamsters at other locations across the country, according to the announcement.

Local 120 President Tom Erickson noted that Sysco posted $1.8 billion in net profit in 2025, saying the company can afford to meet workers’ demands. He said Sysco Teamsters are raising standards and winning strong contracts at locations around the country, and added that management needs to understand workers are prepared to fight for every dollar.

The current contract expired Sunday, May 17th.
