(KNSI) – The St. Cloud City Council will get an update Monday afternoon on two Minnesota Department of Transportation studies looking at Highway 10.

The project team will give a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at city hall. The meeting is open to the public.

The first study is a preliminary engineering review of Highway 10 from St. Cloud to Haven Township. The second covers the 30-mile stretch from St. Cloud to Little Falls, with a focus on St. Germain Street East.

The St. Cloud to Little Falls study has been examining longstanding safety and traffic concerns along the corridor, including difficult left turns at multiple crossings, traffic signal backups in Royalton and St. Cloud, and access management issues. The project team has been reviewing population growth, land development patterns, road conditions, drainage systems, and safety data to develop recommendations that can be put in place in phases as funding allows.

MnDOT held three open house sessions in December to gather public input. A second public update meeting is expected to be scheduled later this summer.
