(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Rox Reading Program wrapped up 2025 with some impressive numbers.

More than 19,700 students from 59 area elementary schools took part in the program last year, which encourages reading outside the classroom. Participants spanned 909 classrooms across 32 cities in central Minnesota. Since the program launched in 2012, more than 177,000 students have taken part.

St. Cloud Rox Managing Partner Scott Schreiner credited the milestone to a broad coalition of contributors. “The success of the program is the result of a collective effort from students, Rox staff, teachers, parents, support staff and school administrators. We’re also incredibly grateful for Magnifi Financial, whose partnership with the Rox Reading Program has been instrumental since day one.”

Magnifi Financial backs the program with incentives for both students and teachers. Students who complete the program earn two tickets to a Rox Baseball game, and more than 2,700 will receive a Rox drawstring bag. Three students who meet their weekly reading goals will receive $250 toward a Magnifi Financial savings account. The company also awards three teachers $250 Visa gift cards for classroom books and gives one school a $1,000 prize to put toward library upgrades.

The St. Cloud Rox will open their home schedule against the Bismarck Larks at 7:05 p.m. Friday, May 29, at Joe Faber Field. A post-game fireworks show presented by Coborn’s will follow.
