(KNSI) — A new utility agreement has been signed between the city of Sartell and Niron Magnetics.
The agreement relates to Niron Magnetics’ planned manufacturing facility development and outlines the timing and payment structure for all sanitary sewer and water availability charges.
The agreement establishes a multi-year payment structure consistent with city code and council-adopted fee schedules. Sewer and water availability fees will be paid over five years, with the first payment due upon building permit approval and subsequent payments due annually. Payments not made within 10 days of the due date will incur a 5% late charge.
Charges apply at the time of each building permit application and issuance; permits are anticipated for both phases of construction. City Code prohibits utility connections to the city’s sanitary sewer or water system without a city-issued permit, and permits will not be issued until all connection fees are paid or payment is secured under an approved agreement.
If the city council amends any charges before a building permit is issued, rates in effect at the time of the permit application will apply. The city retains sole assessment authority to protect its long-term fiscal and infrastructure interests.
