(KNSI) – A judicial vacancy is opening up in Stearns County, and the Commission on Judicial Selection is looking for someone to fill the bench.
The commission announced Friday that it’s accepting applications to replace the Honorable William J. Cashman, who is retiring from Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District. The seat will remain chambered in St. Cloud.
The commission says it’s searching for fair, experienced, and civic-minded individuals to serve. Under state statute, applicants will be evaluated on integrity, maturity, health as it relates to the job, judicial temperament, legal knowledge, ability, experience, and community service. The commission also says it is seeking applicants who reflect Minnesota’s full diversity.
Anyone interested in applying can request an application by emailing the Office of the Governor and Lt. Governor at Judicial.Selection@state.mn.us.
Completed materials must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on May 21st and addressed to commission chair Erin Sindberg Porter.
Interviews are expected to take place in mid-June.
