Minnesota Proclaims May as Hire a Veteran Month

(KNSI) — Minnesota is marking May as Hire a Veteran Month, with the 20th Annual Veterans Career Fair serving as the month’s cornerstone event.

The fair takes place on Wednesday, May 20th, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Heritage Center of Brooklyn Center. The event will feature 100 employers, assistance with resumé reviews, interview preparation, and a LinkedIn photo station. Service providers offering assistance for veterans and their families will also be on hand.

All U.S. military veterans, current service members, National Guard and Reserve members, military spouses, and Gold Star families are invited.

More than 275,000 veterans reside in Minnesota, with nearly 140,000 of working age. More than 20,000 Minnesotans are currently serving in active duty, the National Guard, or the Reserves.
