(KNSI) – A federal grand jury has indicted three people accused of assaulting a journalist who was reporting on an anti-ICE protest at a federal building in St. Paul earlier this month.
United States Attorney Daniel N. Rosen announced the unsealing of the indictment on Wednesday. Charged are Christopher Ostroushko, Paige Marie Ostroushko, and Deyanna Marie Ostroushko.
According to the indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Minnesota, on April 11th, 2026, all three defendants assaulted Turning Point USA contributing journalist Savannah Hernandez.
Christopher and Paige Ostroushko also face an additional charge of interference with federally protected activity, a federal civil rights offense. They are accused of willfully injuring and intimidating Hernandez.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Hernandez was allegedly surrounded, beaten, and shoved to the ground while reporting outside the federal building. He said the defendants targeted her because they identified her as a conservative journalist, calling the alleged conduct political violence rather than a peaceful protest.
Rosen said federal law enforcement will not tolerate political violence, calling it a national scourge.
Federal prosecutors note that an indictment is only an allegation, and all three defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
