(KNSI) – The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office has canceled an alert for a missing 14-year-old girl who authorities had said could be in Benton County.
Peyton Knudsen has been located safe, the sheriff’s office announced Tuesday. Her exact whereabouts when she was found have not been released.
Knudsen had left her grandmother’s home in the 3000 block of 22nd Avenue South in Minneapolis during the early morning hours of April 5th, according to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Authorities had expressed concern for her safety and well-being.
Investigators said Knudsen had connections in both Goodhue County and Benton County, and residents in those areas had been asked to be on the lookout.
The sheriff’s office thanked the public for their assistance in locating her and for sharing information about the case.
