(KNSI) – A new performer will join the lineup at the first North Star Air Show, coming this summer to St. Cloud Sky Central Airport.

According to organizers, Erik Edgren brings one of the most unique acts in air shows, flying a highly modified 1939 Taylorcraft dubbed “T-Clips.” His routine blends precision maneuvers with classic stick-and-rudder comedy, keeping the crowd laughing while the airplane does things it was never designed to do. The North Star Air Show says the act combines old-school flying skill with creative showmanship for a performance like no other.

The show was announced back in December with a squadron of F-22 Raptor fighter jets as the main attraction. The combat planes are based out of Virginia, and the show team was formed to demonstrate the awesome capabilities of this new generation of fighter aircraft.

Other acts taking to the skies include the North American P-51 Mustang and the Vought F4U Corsair. The P-51 Mustang became one of World War II’s most effective long-range escort fighters. The F4U Corsair is recognizable by its inverted gull wing and was designed for carrier operations, delivering outstanding speed, climb rate, and combat durability in the Pacific theater. Both will bring 1940s flight to life at the show.

The NextGen Eagles are new-generation performers flying the Christen Eagle, a high-performance aerobatic biplane known for its roll rate and structural strength. Their performance blends tight formation flying with precision, requiring exact throttle control, precise spacing, and constant visual reference.

The nationally recognized RE/MAX Skydiving Team will open the weekend with a dramatic jump during the National Anthem, descending in formation to kick off the flying program.

The show is scheduled for August 1st and 2nd in St. Cloud.

When the event was announced, Airport Authority Board Chair Brian Myres stated: “We are thrilled to invite the community to this highly anticipated event. The air show will increase industry exposure while simultaneously bolstering the local economy and tourism. It’s part of our strategic initiative to elevate the airport’s profile and highlight its offerings to a broader audience.”
