(KNSI) – The City of St. Cloud has lifted the snow emergency declared over the weekend due to favorable weather conditions.
As of 10:00 AM Monday, normal parking regulations are back in effect. During the emergency, parking restrictions were enforced citywide to allow crews to clear roads to their full width. Those restrictions are no longer in effect. Any vehicle found in violation was ticketed and towed rather than simply receiving a citation.
A snow emergency had been declared ahead of a significant weekend winter storm that brought around 5 inches of snow to the area, far less than the 10 to 18 inches feared. Therefore, the emergency was lifted ahead of its original 72-hour window, thanks to the ability of city crews to clear snow.
Regular winter parking rules remain in effect until the end of the month, regardless of snowfall. They include:
Odd/Even Parking: In designated areas, no street parking is allowed between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Residents with even-numbered addresses may not park on even-numbered calendar days; those with odd-numbered addresses may not park on odd-numbered days.
Seasonal Parking Ban: In certain areas, no parking on either side of the street between 1:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
Downtown/Central Business District: No street parking between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM.
