(KNSI) – The Central Minnesota Builders Association is opening the doors to new construction across the region on the last two weekends of the month for its annual Spring Tour of Homes.

The tour features 18 homes spread across nine communities, including Cold Spring, Melrose, Rice, Richmond, Sartell, Sauk Rapids, St. Augusta, St. Cloud, and St. Joseph. CMBA Executive Director Wanda Schroeder told KNSI there may even be a last-minute addition, so organizers are encouraging visitors to download the CMBA Tour app before heading out. “Check out the app for any updates or homes that get added last minute. They will be on the app, which is the CMBA Tour, or check out the website at cmbatour.com.”

Magazines listing the homes are available at Coborn’s and Little Duke gas stations across central Minnesota, but the app will have the most current information. Homes are open Friday, March 20th and Friday, March 27th from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., and Saturdays March 21st and 28th and Sundays, March 22nd and 29th from noon to 5:00 p.m.

Schroeder also reminded visitors that they’ll be walking through someone’s brand-new home. “Please take your shoes off at the door, or sometimes there will be booties there for you to put over your shoes. Do not bring food, drinks, or animals inside these homes.”

Visitors should also keep children close, and bare feet are not permitted.

Local builders say the tour is a great way for anyone thinking about constructing a new home to meet builders in person and get a feel for spaces that are hard to appreciate on paper.
