St. Cloud Area Career Solutions Receives $100,000 State Grant for Youth Job Training Program

(KNSI) — A St. Cloud area organization is getting a share of nearly $2 million in state job training grants.

Career Solutions, which serves Benton and Stearns Counties, is receiving $100,000 through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development’s Youthbuild program.

Youthbuild provides funding for construction job training, academic support, mentoring, case management, and placement assistance for young people who have dropped out of high school or are at risk of doing so and are economically disadvantaged. The grants are expected to serve more than 600 young people across Minnesota.

The two-year grant is part of $1.9 million awarded to 12 organizations statewide.

DEED Commissioner Matt Varilek says the programs are a solid investment in young Minnesotans and their communities.
