(KNSI) – A famous civil rights attorney represents the family of a young man shot and killed by police in a Twin Cities suburb.
Lawyer Ben Crump is representing the family of Daunte Wright. The 20-year-old died on Sunday after being accidentally shot in Brooklyn Center by a female police officer.
Wright was pulled over for a traffic violation and was accidentally shot while trying to get away from the police.
Bodycam footage showed the officer intended to fire her Tsar but instead fired her gun, killing Wright.
Crump isn’t a stranger to Minnesota.
He’s representing George Floyd’s family, who died while being detained by police in May of 2020.
