(KNSI) – Catholic Charities of St. Cloud is gearing up for its 16th annual Pack the Porches food and fund drive, set to kick off as part of the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign.

According to organizers, one in five Minnesota households are experiencing food insecurity, making this year’s drive as important as ever. The main collection event runs from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on March 27th, with three drop-off locations accepting nonperishable food items. Adding extra incentive to give, Coborn’s has pledged to match all food and fund donations up to $15,000.

Donations can be dropped off at Pioneer Place on Fifth in St. Cloud, St. Cloud Financial Credit Union in Sartell, and St. Cloud Hyundai in Waite Park. Monetary donations will also be accepted at all three locations and online.

Every donation counts toward a statewide initiative to stock food shelves across Minnesota, and the more that’s raised locally, the greater Catholic Charities’ share of that statewide support.

If you can’t make it on March 27th, the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign runs through April 6th, and Catholic Charities Food Shelf welcomes donations of nonperishable items in person or online throughout that period.
