Man Arrested After Shooting at Belgrade Home Saturday

(KNSI) — A Belgrade man is in custody after a shooting that left another man hospitalized Saturday.

Stearns County dispatchers got a call just before noon from a woman saying her son had shot someone at a home in the 900 block of School Street in Belgrade. Deputies arrived to find a man who had been shot multiple times.

The victim was taken to Paynesville Hospital, then airlifted to CentraCare St. Cloud Hospital before being transferred to Hennepin County Medical Center in the Twin Cities. According to a press release, his injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

Investigators say the two men knew each other and there is no danger to the public.

The 44-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene. He remains in custody pending charges. KNSI does not typically name suspects until they have been formally charged.
