(KNSI) – Local Education and Activities Foundation (LEAF) 742 is launching its first Thanks a Latte campaign, offering families and the community a way to show appreciation for the teachers and staff who keep the St. Cloud Area School District running.
The initiative coincides with Random Act of Kindness Week, which runs February 14th to the 20th. According to the foundation, the campaign recognizes that it takes more than classroom teachers to educate students. Supporters can honor anyone from custodians to counselors, paraprofessionals to principals, kitchen staff, and nurses to media specialists, basically anyone who has made a difference in a student’s life.
Here’s how the program percolates: Community members make a $20 donation to LEAF 742 through the foundation’s website, designating which District 742 staff member they’d like to recognize. LEAF then delivers a personalized note on the donor’s behalf along with a $10 Scooter’s Coffee gift card. Local Scooter’s Coffee locations are sponsoring the initiative.
The remaining $10 from each donation supports LEAF’s broader mission of enhancing educational opportunities in academics, activities, arts, and athletics for District 742 students.
Community members have until February 20th to recognize that special someone in education.
