(KNSI) – The St. Cloud VA Medical Center is hosting a women veterans focus group on Tuesday, February 10th, as part of its ongoing effort to improve care for female veterans.
The meeting will take place from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Building 4, Room 225. Women Veterans Program Manager at the St. Cloud VA, Rachel Moehn, told KNSI these quarterly sessions are designed to give women veterans a voice in shaping their healthcare.”Our goal is to really listen and learn from our women veterans. I am required to ask a handful of questions, but really what I want to do is learn from our veterans what it’s like to receive care here. I am not a veteran. So, um, I really lean on feedback.”
The focus groups allow the VA to hear directly from women veterans about their experiences and gather suggestions for improving access and quality of care. Recent sessions have emphasized mental health services, ensuring the VA meets the needs of both male and female veterans in that critical area.
The program manager also encourages unenrolled women veterans who may qualify for VA care to take advantage of the benefits they’ve earned. Veterans interested in enrolling can contact their County Veterans Service Officer or call the VA’s enrollment number at 320-255-6340. Moen is also available at extension 6655.
