(KNSI) – A resident was saved from their burning home in St. Cloud after their kitchen caught fire on Thursday.
Firefighters were called to the 800 block of 21st Avenue North just before 11:00 a.m. on the report of a fire with a person unable to escape the blaze.
According to the fire department’s critical incident report, when they arrived, they could see smoke billowing out of the home and flames growing from the kitchen area. Multiple crews attacked the flames simultaneously, rescued the resident, and were able to quickly get the fire under control.
The damage was confined to the kitchen and attic. The person rescued was treated at CentraCare-St. Cloud Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the St. Cloud Fire Marshal.
