(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Police Department dedicated 11 hours to traffic enforcement on Wednesday, stopping dozens of vehicles as part of an ongoing effort to improve road safety throughout the city.
Officers conducted the detail from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in various parts of St. Cloud. It was the third such saturation effort in the last month. Collectively, the three details have resulted in 162 vehicle stops, with officers issuing numerous warnings and citations for traffic violations.
According to the department, speeding, distracted driving, and violations at traffic signals and stop signs are major contributing factors to crashes in St. Cloud. Officers are focusing on these violations to reduce accidents and make roads safer for all residents.
The St. Cloud Police Department emphasized that these enforcement efforts are part of a long-term commitment to traffic safety in the community.
Commander Adam Meierding said police plan to continue conducting similar operations on a regular basis.
