(KNSI) – The Public Safety Foundation partnered with St. Cloud Subaru to hand out over 40 winter coats to help keep kids from shivering as the region becomes entrenched in frigid temperatures.
The Subaru Loves To Help coat giveaway, held at the St. Cloud Police Department, provided brand-new winter coats to children ages two to 18.
Jenifer Odette, Executive Director of the Public Safety Foundation, told KNSI News, “Given the brutal weather conditions, the need was very real, and it was wonderful to see such an immediate and meaningful impact. This is one of those collaborations that brings both joy and real impact, and today was a great example of that.”
She says General Manager Bobby Konnight and his team at St. Cloud Subaru have been longstanding partners with the foundation for several years. “I am incredibly grateful for our partnership with St. Cloud Subaru, Bobby Konnight, and his amazing team,” the Executive Director noted. “They truly care about the community and have been outstanding partners.”
With additional coats still available and continued cold weather in the forecast, organizers are already planning another giveaway event. The Public Safety Foundation hopes to host the next distribution at its newly opened Community Outpost in the near future.
The event was a collaboration between the Public Safety Foundation, St. Cloud Subaru, Operation Warm, and the St. Cloud Police Department’s Community Outposts (COP Houses).
According to the National Weather Service, the St. Cloud area is facing its coldest temperatures of the season, with a low of -23 predicted for Thursday night and a high of -10 on Friday.
