(KNSI) – What’s old is new again for St. Cloud Christian Academy.
The school is returning to its original name to herald its move to a facility in Waite Park for the 2026-27 academic year. SCCS is rebranding as King’s Academy, a name it believes better reflects the school’s mission: “to raise students who know and follow Jesus.”
The change was brought about by a community survey that asked the school to develop a strong identity to inspire pride among students and alumni. A new logo is a lion wearing a crown of thorns. The king of the jungle and an allegory for Jesus in popular fiction like the Chronicles of Narnia series, the lion also represents strength, righteousness, and sovereignty. The thorns invoke the passion, a time of supreme humility and sacrifice.
The name transition will be completed in full next year.
