(KNSI) – The annual Candy Cane and Cocoa Party returns on Saturday, December 6th, but in a brand new location.
The gym at the St. Cloud Area Family YMCA will be packed to the brim with holiday themed fun aimed at kids who can’t wait for Christmas magic, according to Leighton Media Events Director Cole Erie. “We’ve got lots of holiday themed activities, make it and take it crafts, [and] decorate a stocking. You can take a picture at the photo booth. And the big man’s going to be there.”
The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive at 10:00 a.m. There will also be ornament making, face painting, decorating gingerbread men, and holiday dance parties. “You can see the Christmas magic in the kids’ eyes, and you can just feel it in the families, too. It’s a fun community event. And it’s all about bringing the community together and creating those lifelong memories.” said Erie.
Admission is $5 per person at the gate, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the YMCA’s membership assistance fund. The first 300 children will receive a themed event bag for collecting their crafts and goodies.
Families are encouraged to wear their festive Christmas sweaters and hats to fully embrace the holiday spirit. For more about the event, click here.
