(KNSI) – Minnesotans gave to the max and then some on Thursday.

GiveMN says its annual donation event brought in over $37.8 million for better than 6,000 different organizations. The mark is a new record, having beaten 2025’s haul by about $700,000.

Chief Executive Officer Jenna Ray says, “Yesterday, Minnesotans came together across zip codes, causes and communities to make history.” She adds, “This record-breaking year is powerful because it was fueled by thousands of neighbors giving what they could. Give to the Max Day shows that when we give together, we all thrive together.”

She notes that Give to the Max Day is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished as a whole, whether donors are able to give $5,000 or just $5 to a cause. Organizations representing animal causes, the environment, and food shelves were some of the most popular choices.

GiveMN runs an online generosity marketplace. The group says it has raised $430 million in donations since it started in 2009.
